The new path of exile 2 0.4 expansion coming the 11 December reveals major changes to existing content plus a new class with two ascendancies.
Highlights from the patch notes:
General Changes
- Tailwind tuned: 1% movement, 2% skill speed, 10% evasion, deflected hit mitigation per stack
- Unarmed base attack speed increased to 1.65 APS
- Rage QoL: regen pauses decay; all rage skills cost 10; visual only at 10+ rage
- Armour cannot reduce hits to 0 damage (minimum 1)
- Ignite auras now apply standard ignites with reapplication (no infinite stacking)
Ascendancy Highlights
Deadeye
- Wind Ward removed
- Bullseye requires Called Shots; now applies 10 Critical Weakness
- New Mirage Deadeye meta skill: creates a mirage that uses socketed ranged attacks
Pathfinder
- Contagious Contamination and Practical Remedies removed
- Running Assault: cannot be Heavy Stunned while Sprinting
- New Path Seeker multi-choice: Path of the Warrior or Sorceress (+4 passive points)
- Traveller's Wisdom requires Path Seeker; attribute passives gain extra options (damage, global defences, cost efficiency)
Amazon
- Elemental Surge rework: consuming a charge triggers Elemental Surge with Lightning Surges
- Surging Avatar rework: consuming a charge triggers Elemental Surge granting Cold, Lightning, and Fire Surges
Ritualist
- Ritual Sacrifice stolen mod duration massively increased (up to 120s; quality +20s)
- Corrupted Lifeforce: 15% more damage to enemies affected by Blood Boil
Warbringer
- Imploding Impacts: fully broken armour increases all hit damage taken
- Ancestral Warhorn minion hits close enemies more consistently
Titan
- Surprising Strength removed
- Crushing Impacts: 25% more damage vs Heavy Stunned
- New Mountain Splitter: every third non-fissure slam adds additional aftershocks; requires Crushing Impacts
Smith of Kitava
- Connected notables to Smith's Masterwork now grant +200 Armour
- Padded Plates, Lead Lining, Heavy Bracing removed; replaced with:
- Kitavan Imprint: body armour grants 60% increased Glory generation
- Spiked Plates: body armour grants 100% increased Thorns damage
- Tribute to Utula: body armour grants 30% increased Spirit
- Internal Layer: 100% reduced critical damage taken
- Heatproofing: unaffected by all damaging ailments
- Heat of the Forge: triggered fire spells cost no mana; +10% damage per level (up to 200% at 20)
- Temper Weapon: no mana cost; Combust on empowered attacks +25% more damage; 3m radius
- Manifest Weapon AI improvements; cooldown reductions for mace and quarterstaff; spear dash damage fixed
Infernalist
- Seething Body rework: gain Elemental Archon on spell cast while on High Infernal Flame; Archon persists until maximum Infernal Flame
Blood Mage
- Whispers of the Flesh: cursed targets have 100% reduced life regen
Stormweaver
- Refracted Infusion: always gain an additional different infusion
- Storm's Recollection: collect remnants from 50% further away
- Multiplying Squalls: +2 to limit of elemental skills
Chronomancer
- Inevitability's Inevitable Agony: ignores curse limit; expired curse deals 50% of hit damage again
Gemling Legionnaire
- Thaumaturgical Infusion: max res per 3 same-color support gems (buffed from 4)
- Thaumaturgical Dynamism: charge every 5s (from 8s)
Tactician
- Supporting Fire (Death From Above) overhaul: 20s cooldown, 0.75s volley cadence, 6 volleys, 14m width; adjusted damage
- Strategic Embankments updates:
- Artillery Ballista: +20% skill speed
- Siege Ballista: 25% more damage vs immobilised
- Mortar Cannon: 25% of damage gained as extra fire
- Spell Totem added to auras; +50% crit chance
Witchhunter
- Witchbane: enemy max concentration now 30% life (buff)
- Ceremonial Ablution: Sorcery Ward protects vs physical and chaos
Invoker
- "…and Protect me from harm": 35% less evasion (reduced penalty)
- The Soul Springs Eternal: meta skills 50% increased spirit reservation efficiency
- Unbound Avatar: 12s cooldown; ailments grant Unbound Fury; Shock/Ignite now grant 1 (from 2)
Acolyte of Chayula
- Embrace the Darkness: +10 max Darkness per level
- Waking Dream – Into the Breach:
- Red Flames: 15% life leech
- Blue Flames: 15% mana leech
- Purple Flames: 8s duration; flames spawn closer to player
- Choice of Power/Life/Mana: +50% remnant effect and pickup range
- Grasp of the Void – Void Illusion:
- 4s cooldown at all levels; 3 charges
- Damage significantly increased (350–1268% attack damage)
