Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Progression Update: Faster XP, Quicker Attachments, Earlier Assignments

Progression is getting a meaningful boost. Based on player feedback, Battlefield 6 is rolling out changes that make the grind feel more rewarding—especially for unlocking gadgets and weapon attachments—while keeping mastery milestones satisfying.

TL;DR

Area Change What It Means
Match Completion XP +10% More XP at the end of each match
Daily Bonus XP +40% Bigger daily login/first-match boost
Weapon Attachment Ranks XP reduced for first 20 ranks Unlock useful attachments almost twice as fast
Assignment Requirements Rank gates lowered Start key assignments earlier (ranks 10/15/20)
Known UI Note Temporary progress display anomalies Display fixes itself after playing a match with that weapon

Progression and XP Adjustments

To improve the pace of rewards, two XP sources are being increased:

XP Source Previous New Delta
Match Completion XP Baseline Baseline + 10% +10%
Daily Bonus XP Baseline Baseline + 40% +40%

This means more consistent progress from normal play and a stronger nudge to log in daily.

Faster Weapon Attachment Unlocks

Unlocking early attachments will be quicker:

Range Change Player Impact
First 20 Attachment Ranks XP requirement reduced Earn early attachments almost twice as fast

Note: If you’ve already started progressing a weapon, the UI may briefly display abnormal values. This resolves after completing a match while using that weapon.

Assignment Requirement Changes

You can begin key assignments earlier:

Assignment Gate (Career Rank) Old Requirement New Requirement
Gate 1 20 10
Gate 2 23 15
Gate 3 26 20

The team is also reviewing challenge frustrations, but those changes need more time for design, testing, and implementation.

Goals of the Update

  • Smoother, more rewarding progression
  • Faster access to early, meaningful attachments
  • Preserve the sense of achievement for full weapon mastery

Tips to Maximize Progress

  • Complete your first daily match to capture the +40% daily bonus XP
  • Finish matches to benefit from the +10% completion XP increase
  • Focus on weapons you want to master to leverage the faster first 20 ranks

If you notice odd UI values for weapon progress, play one match with that weapon to refresh the display.
